Writers! Actors! Directors! Mark your calendars and keep an eye on this space as we prepare for the next generation of Random Acts play in a day,
co-produced by The Actors Studio of Newburyport and The Playwrights Collaborative.   It is called Velocity Theater, and it is planned for the weekend of Feb. 7-9, 2025.
 
If you’ve been involved before, you know how it works: Writers, actors, and directors sign up in advance.  Then, on Friday night, the writers are
randomly paired and sent off to create a 10-minute play.  Saturday morning, they turn in their finished scripts and the actors and directors are randomly
assigned.  The teams rehearse. After a brief tech-in, the plays are presented (script in hand) that evening to an always appreciative
audience.  Magic!
 
Because this is the next generation, and because past performances have been very popular, this version comes with a twist: We will repeat our
performance on Sunday for a matinee.  So, actors, keep in mind that you are committing to two performances.  And you will be able to invite all your
friends because there will be room for everyone!
