Dancing On A Volcano - A Documentary Film -
      A Memorial to Nadja Kalfel

Sunday, December 17 at 5pm

Jesse, Leslie and Leah Kalfel Invite you to celebrate the life of
            Nadja (Juana Merino) Kalfel

Friends are invited to share their Nadja Stories and everyone who comes can enjoy a screening of
Dancing On A Volcano       the great documentary film about Nadja's life.

So many of us in Leslie and Jesse's Newburyport community have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Jess's mom, Nadja, and were touched by her larger-than-life presence. Now the time has come to help Jesse mark her passing and celebrate her remarkable life.
Join us at The Actors Studio of Newburyport on Sunday December 17, 2017 at 5 pm. We'll enjoy a nosh and some great memories.
The Actors Studio has screened Dancing on A Volcano twice in the recent past and yet many of our friends have still not seen it, so it seems appropriate to screen it one more time as we pay tribute to this extraordinary woman and artist.
This documentary is an account of the gradual escape from Nazi occupied Europe of Nadja's family. The central figure in this intimate documentary is Nadja Kalfel. We will hear in her own words along with images captured on film of her heart stopping, step-by-step escape from the Nazis where, with the help of a Chilean Diplomat, helped save hundreds of people including members of her own family. This is an engaging love story as well as a story about survival and how eventually she made a new life as a renowned fashion illustrator in New York City.

RSVP to Marc at 978-465-1229 or marc@newburyportacting.org

Memorial contributions can be made to The Actors Studio of Newburyport.
We will enjoy Hors D'oeuvres and drinks while we watch and discuss.
